Apresentação do Metallica e homenagens a Nirvana, Bowie, Elvis e R.E.M.
Para nós, amantes do bom e velho Rock n’ Roll, faz tempo que grandes eventos de premiações da música tem deixado a desejar. Afinal, desde os anos 90 com o Grunge, o último grande movimento do Rock no Mainstream, que a grande mídia anda carente de astros do Rock entre os principais personagens no topo das paradas.
Para a nossa felicidade, no dia 12 de fevereiro na edição do Grammy 2017 transmitida direto e Los Angeles, teremos alguns momentos animadores para quem curte o Rock. Pra começar, teremos uma apresentação do Metallica tocando ao vivo no palco da cerimônia. Sim! Teremos as guitarras botando distorção no talo, uma porrada na orelha para aquelas celebridades comportadas em ternos Black Tie e vestidos longos, algo que não vemos há um bom tempo em um evento como o Grammy. As outras apresentações serão da cantora Adele, John Legend, Carrie Underwood e Keith Urban.
Outro momento especial para o Rock será com “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, do Nirvana, “Changes”, do David Bowie, “Losing My Religion”, do R.E.M. e “Jailhouse Rock”, do Elvis Presley que estão entre as 25 gravações que serão incluídas no Hall da Fama do Grammy em 2017. De acordo com a Billboard, o critério de elegibilidade para o Hall da Fama do Grammy é que a gravação tenha no mínimo 25 anos.
Voltando as premiações, o Brasil será representado por Caetano Veloso e Gilberto Gil, indicados na categoria de Melhor Álbum de World Music pelo disco ao vivo Dois Amigos, Um Século de Música, que registra a turnê acústica dos dois baianos. Pra variar, a campeã de indicações é a Beyoncé que mais uma vez deve voltar pra casa cheia de troféus.
